Scholarship program: General Practice in rural areas
The Bavarian Ministry of Health and Care funds a project called "Best rural outing General Medicine (Beste Landpartie Allgemeinmedizin) - Lower Franconia" at the Department of General Medicine of the Würzburg University Hospital. The aim is to arouse interest among students of medicine for the practice of general medicine in the rural area of Lower Franconia. Participating students profit from extra-curricular workshops and seminars, as well as a financial scholarship.
The program is created in cooperation with regional general practioners, hospitals and communal or local managers from the communcal administration and healthcare providers.
The cooperating hospitals within the "BeLA" project are:
- Leopoldina Krankenhaus Schweinfurt
- Haßberg-Kliniken (Akutgeriatrie)
- Klinikum Main-Spessart
- Main-Klinik Ochsenfurt
Research partners are the Institute of Medical Teaching and Medical Education Research at the University Hospital Würzburg and the project partners at the universities of the University Erlangen-Nürnberg and the Technical University in Munich.
